This hair piece features2 dragons intertwined and designed in theJelling Viking Artstyle with a Hedeby pin. It fastens onto the hair by sliding the pin through the gaps on the outer edges of the knotwork.
The Jelling style appears from the start of the 10th century and continues for about 75 years. Stylistic animals are S-shaped and intertwined, with profiled heads, spiral hips and pigtails. Borre and Jelling overlap and occasionally both are used on the same object.
The pin in this hair piece is a reproduction of the 10th century pin discovered in the excavations of the Viking settlement of Hedeby.
It is made out of Zinc Alloy with an antique finish.
